This 5 week throwing on potter’s wheel course is for those interested in learning how to make pottery on a wheel. It is suitable for all levels, no prior knowledge of pottery is required.  The course is ideal for beginners and makers who want to focus on throwing and need a breakthrough in their skills.

This pottery making course is full of practical demonstrations and plenty of making time covering:

  • – Clay preparation
  • – Centering
  • – Throwing a variety of shapes
  • – Turning

We are able to give you dedicated support and full access to the equipment while you learn. The zise of the class is 7 people, and it is run by our in-house tutor with 10 years of teaching experience.


If participants are wishing to glaze their thrown work after this course we offer a small group glazing workshop. The next glazing workshop after this course is on Saturday 29 March 2:30 pm.

Throwing on Potter’s Wheel Course.

The cost of the course includes the cost of the materials and a firing.

Clothing: we will provide specialist throwing aprons and tools for the workshop, and you are welcome to bring your own!

Please be aware that ceramics workshop environment can be dangerous for babies, children and pets, and we cannot accommodate their presence in the workshop.

The workshops we run are for adults, young people under 18-years old need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Be aware: long nails can be uncomfortable for throwing on a potter’s wheel.

Latecomers will be refused admission, please make sure you arrive to the workshop in time for the start of the sessions.
