Friday morning pottery class is a series of our regular People’s Pottery Classes, a model that allows us to bring together beginner and intermediate students for the regular sessions of making and learning together.

At the adult People’s Pottery Class beginners will be introduced to various methods of using clay to produce functional and artistic works. We will be exploring techniques like pinching, slab building, coiling, press-moulding, throwing and turning, slip decoration and glazing. Sessions will start with a demonstration of a technique and follow with plentiful making time.

Decoration will be explored through the use of slips, glazes and experimentation with surface texture.
